About This Spot

Stepping into Tosaya feels like finding a quiet pause amid the bustle of Kuala Lumpur’s Taman Midah neighborhood. The space is thoughtfully arranged to offer a calm respite, where polished surfaces and subtle lighting invite you to unwind and slow down. There’s a gentle hum of conversation and the soft clatter of chopsticks, creating a warm and unhurried rhythm that welcomes both intimate dinners and relaxed gatherings.

The pace here is distinctly measured—no rush, just the pleasure of slow, deliberate enjoyment. The attentive but unobtrusive staff contribute to a sense of hospitality that’s both thoughtful and genuine, allowing diners to settle comfortably as the menu unfolds like a well-curated story of Japanese flavors.

Rather than presenting a mere list of dishes, the experience at Tosaya is about savoring familiar tastes with a quiet touch of craft. From tender, buttery Wagyu that melts slowly on the tongue to bowls of steaming ramen that whisper of rich broths and delicate balance, each bite invites a moment of appreciation. The freshness of the salmon sashimi and the homey charm of karaage offer contrast and texture, while thoughtfully plated sushi pieces serve as small acts of art, showcasing attention to detail without fanfare.

Even as the weeks bring the lively energy of the nearby night market, Tosaya maintains its serene grace, making it a reliable retreat where one can enjoy a satisfying meal without distraction. Whether you’re stopping by after a busy day or seeking a steady retreat for weekend conversations, this is a place where good food and genuine warmth quietly converge.

I like the environment, quite, clean, and the staff is friendly. Tried their ramen, nice and delicious, selling at RM20+, the salmon sashimi is fresh serving at price RM30+ for 5 slices. There is night market (pasar malam) happening on every Saturday, will be quite challenging to find parking between 7-9pm.

I recently dined at Tosaya and had an exceptional experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and friendly staff. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional and modern Japanese dishes. I started with the sushi platter, and each piece was a work of art, showcasing fresh and high-quality ingredients. The flavors were incredibly well-balanced, and the presentation was stunning. The SALMKN SASHIMI IS THE BEST! The service was good—attentive but not intrusive. The staff was knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations. I also appreciated their willingness to accommodate dietary preferences. Overall, tosaya exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable Japanese dining experience.

Forgot to take photo of curry grilled chicken katsu and ramen. Both tasted good, especially the ramen soup. Friendly service and good environment. Worth the try.

First time here and is my birthday, walking distance from MRT Taman Midah. Buta Kimuchi Set RM 25 and Tori Katsu Set RM 26 are must to be ordered. Fast serving during lunch time and plenty of seats available during weekday.

Great Japanese cuisine with decent pricing. Portions for the ramen, rice meals and bento sets are big and satisfying. I personally really like the curries here although there isn't as much cheese as shown on the menu. Staff are very nice and helpful. Perfect place if you are craving good Japanese food.
